Boiling Point 50 : Dissemination of Solar Home Systems in Vietnam: A Case Study of Successful Partnership
The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), a women’s NGO, in partnership with the Solar Electric Light Company (SELCO), a commercial company and the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (VBARD), a development finance institution, has been seminating solar home systems in Vietnam since 1995. The arrangement makes use of a credit scheme where VWU markets SELCO’s systems and administers consumer loans provided by VBARD, while SELCO provides systems and is responsible for service.
