Information, Communication and Learning

Access to information for all, enabling knowledge to be shared, and experiences to be communicated widely, has an important part to play in poverty alleviation. Rapid development in information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities has spread knowledge around the world faster, however it is important that new technologies do not overshadow the many traditional approaches to communication used throughout the world every day, and are developed in a way that serves all equally and benefit the poorest. The most appropriate form of communication will depend upon the individuals and surrounding environment, and on the subject matter.

We look at some of the (mostly traditional) approaches to ICTs, and how to make best use of them.
